South Street

For my trip around Philly i went to south street. It was so interesting seeing some of the graffiti and how it has aged. I also like this one building made completely out of glass and bottles and rocks an just junk. I can't imagine how long it took this person to build this amazing masterpiece. That same technique of using broken glass is seen all over south street. It is interesting seeing how the building tie together like that.

I am completely against photoshop in magazines that is used to make the subject look more "perfect". If someone is going to be on the cover doesn't that make them good enough as is. They would be going onto the cover if people didn't look up to them so why should they have to change. Self magazine tried to justify it's photoshopping by saying that they are just trying to make the person be at their best but i think that the fact that they made it onto a cover fir some reason is probably because they are being the best they can be. They don't need photoshop to help them with that.

Larry Lessig

What i got from this video is that there was some concern as to whether new technology was going to take our "Read-write" culture and change it into a "Read-only" society. Larry's argument is that technology isn't going to rob us of our creativity but instead it is going to change how we create. Things like youtube videos are great examples of how our generation is creating. We take other people ideas and make them our own. Things brings up other controversy as to what ideas can we take without being subject to copyright infringements. The fact is as long as we are putting our own spin on ideas they are no longer anyone's but our own.
